Indoor to Outdoor Sport Climbing
This course is designed for confident indoor climbers wanting to take their adventures outdoors

Are you a confident indoor climber with some leading experience at indoor grade 5a or more? Do you enjoy the social aspect of climbing? Do you want to try climbing on real rock whilst enjoying the maximum amount of climbing mileage? Then this course is for you.
Delivered at local crags such Garron Point or Altnadue Quarry
£90 per person (2 days)
Ratio 1:4 student to instructor.

Course Content:
The following skills will be covered throughout the course:
Individualised coaching to develop & improve movement skills while on rock
Belaying - covering a range of ropes and device, bottom roping and lead.
Holding falls and lowering
Lead climbing, clipping bolts and lowering off safely (if appropriate to participant’s abilities)
Using a clip-stick
Aiding a climb
Escaping if unsuccessful
Pre-requisites
This course is designed to equip you with the tools and techniques required to go sport climbing in the future for yourself. You should already have indoor leading experience and be climbing at a minimum of grade 5a indoors.
What’s included?
The following kit will be provided by Adventure Climbing Company on the day. You may bring your own if you have it:
Climbing ropes
Technical climbing equipment, e.g. screw gates and quick draws
Harness
Helmet
Chalk bag
Rock shoes
Belay plate
What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring the below kit:
Waterproof jacket and trousers
Warm outdoor wear
Appropriate footwear for the intended course
Warm hat & gloves
Water bottle
Lunch
Personal medications
Suncream & sun hat
